My name is Lee Thompson and I am a freelance photographer based in Whitstable, United Kingdom. I use two Canon 5D Mark IIs and various 'L' lenses.
As a musician from the age of 16 it seemed natural to pick the music scene as my main focus when I first moved into photography in 2007. Since then I have worked extensively on the music scene and take on commissioned work whenever I can get it. I have had images published in Jazzwise Magazine, Classic Rock Magazine, Gear Magazine, Sweden's leading music magazine Musikermagasinet, German magazine Orkus, as well as various local and national publications.
I photographed my first album cover for Liane Carroll's 'Up and Down' in 2011 and my second for The Quireboys album 'Beautiful Curse' released in June 2013. I shot images for my second Quireboys album "Black Eyed Sons" (30th year in music edition) in January 2014. In 2016 I photographed the cover and inserts for Jude Adams' album 'This Girl, This Woman'. I've also had my images used on the 2013 Dexys (Dexys Midnight Runners) merchandise (Programme and T-Shirts).
When I'm not photographing people and 'stuff' I work full time for Penguin Randomhouse Book Publishers. I'm also the lead singer for Ska band 'The Skatonics'.
